Nestled in the heart of Ashford town, Ashford Picturehouse is a busy 6 screen Cinema located just around the corner from Ashford International Station. We show a range of mainstream and Independent, art-house and foreign-language films, as well as regular live events.
We are looking for dynamic, friendly individuals to join our team here at Ashford who are able to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We offer 16 hour contracts with a range of benefits if you are successful in joining our team.
In addition to a diverse programme of films, ranging from quality blockbusters to independent, classic, foreign-language and art-house, our cinemas show live HD broadcasts of productions from world-class arts venues, such as the New York Metropolitan Opera and the Bolshoi Ballet, theatre productions such as the Royal Shakespeare Company Live from Stratford-upon-Avon and National Theatre Live, art exhibitions and filmmaker Q&As.
Food and drink are integral parts of the experience here at Picturehouse with Cafés, Bars and Restaurants in many of the venues, making each cinema an exciting social hub within the communities.
Ashford Picturehouse is part of Picturehouse Cinemas who operate 29 cinemas across the UK and are a stand-alone division of Cineworld PLC.
Vacancy
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant with food and beverage experience who can bring the Picturehouse way of working to this established venue.
Please note there is a requirement to work 16 hours per week over any of the seven days with regular work at evenings and weekends.
We offer an hourly rate of £9.80 plus bonus opportunities for this role.

Job Description
Reports to: Sous Chef & Kitchen Manager
Job Purpose: To support the Sous Chef & Kitchen Manager in managing the day to day food operations; ensure memorably excellent menus are consistently delivered.
Main Duties:
* Replicating the food concepts as per the Sous Chef & Kitchen Manager’s requirements
* Helping to create new dishes and menus where required, including daily specials in a timely manner from the kitchens
* Ensure Food Hygiene, Kitchen Cleanliness and other Health and Safety responsibilities are understood and followed by the team
* Replicating standards for food preparation and service, ensuring they are met at all times; maintaining portion control standards
* Ensuring waste is minimized in food preparations and stock is rotated to avoid unnecessary waste
* Preparing and cooking food to consistently high standards of presentations
* Liaising, where necessary, with bar staff and the Duty Manager to communicate delivery times, items out of stock and other information necessary to present a professional service to customers
* Undertaking any other duties which may be reasonably requested of you by the company for effective functioning of the kitchen to maximize its business
