Job Purpose 

 ● To assist the Head Chef in the day to day tasks within the kitchen. To cook and present food to an excellent standard and to creatively input to the menu development. To Keep the kitchen clean and tidy contributing to a 5* food hygiene rating.

 

Main Duties: 

● General Kitchen Duties 

● Delivering our menus to company specification, served in a timely manner from the kitchens. Prepare dishes with care to company specification sheets. 

● Preparing and cooking food to consistently high standards of presentation, following company plating guidelines. 

● Deputising for the Sous Chef in their absence and leading the team on shifts when required 

● Liaising with the cinema team to communicate delivery times, items out of stock and any other relevant information necessary to present a professional service to the customer 

● Assisting the Head Chef with Stock Management (including ordering, rotating, stock taking and processing stock) so that adequate levels of stock are held, internal and external processes are followed and wastage is kept to a minimum. 

● Receive deliveries as per company procedure, ensuring discrepancies are actioned and HACCP procedures are followed 

● Ensuring Food Hygiene, Kitchen Cleanliness and other health and safety responsibilities are followed at all times maintaining a 5* rating 

● Assisting the Head Chef with training and managing of the other kitchen team members, ensuring that all kitchen team members knows exactly what is expected of them and is performing their role to the best of their ability 

● Undertaking such administration to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen 

● Ensure all communication via radios is appropriate, clear, and concise

 

Health & Safety – You will: 

 ● Follow all Health & Safety Policies with a Spot it, Sort it approach 

 ● Work efficiently using all pieces of equipment (you have been trained on) correctly and with care 

 ● Inform management immediately of any breaches or issues within Health & Safety 

 ● Help monitor maintenance or repairs advising the relevant people of any issues immediately 

 ● Open and close kitchen areas, ensuring the relevant supporting paperwork is completed

 ● Undertake basic daily cleaning duties including but not limited to crockery, pots, pans etc. and removing of rubbish as required 

 ● You will be expected to attend regular staff meetings and shift briefings and keep up to date on staff communications 

 ● Adhere to all policies and procedures 

 ● Ensuring Food Hygiene, Kitchen Cleanliness and other health and safety responsibilities are followed at all times maintaining a 5* rating 

 ● Product Knowledge and sales 

 ● Ensure all wastage is correctly recorded by following the wastage procedure 

 ● Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and food presentation in line with policy 

 ● Along with your main duties, you will also be expected to carry out any other duties that are reasonably asked of you.
