About Andy

​What is your current role and tell us about your career to date with Cineworld?

I'm currently the General Manager at Cineworld Ashton, which has a Starbucks, 4DX and our only IMAX screen in Manchester. In my role I'm responsible for all aspects of the cinema operation whilst ensuring we deliver the high level of customer service that our customers expect each day. I started in 2009 as a Cinema Manager at St Helens becoming General Manager there in 2013. During my time in St Helens, I also completed our Academy programme which was then our in-house development scheme ran by L&D to develop & upskill managers abilities and behaviours. In 2018 I was delighted to open Cineworld Speke as General Manager before I moved to a complexity 1 cinema in Ashton in 2023.

What do you enjoy the most about for working for Cineworld?

I really enjoy seeing people in my team develop and progress and work hard each day to ensure my team feels valued. Every 8day really is different and whilst that can be challenging my team is full of the best people who always make it enjoyable and fun. On a more personal note, most of my closest friendships have been formed working for Cineworld & that's the same for lots of my colleagues.
