Outdoor Cinema Coordinators
Job Purpose
The Outdoor Cinema Coordinators support the Outdoor Cinema Manager & Deputy in delivering a safe, well-run and commercially successful outdoor cinema season. This role has a strong focus on Health & Safety compliance, team leadership, and operational excellence, while ensuring an outstanding open-air cinema experience for guests across all locations.
The Outdoor Cinema Coordinators will hold responsibility for leading host cinema teams, along with setting up, delivery & de-rigging each event.
The role is full-time over a fixed period. The 2026 Picturehouse outdoors season runs from May to September 2026 and will travel to different locations throughout the UK.
Before the Events (In conjunction with Outdoor Cinema Manager)
* Attend mandatory pre-season training (9th May 2026)
* Oversee preparation, testing, and readiness of all outdoor cinema equipment
* Overseeing van loading & inventory checking
* Assist with scheduling, briefing, and preparing host cinema teams
* Provide ad-hoc operational support to Picturehouse Operations, including transport of stock, equipment, and furniture between sites
* Ad Hoc duties
Ongoing Responsibilities (In conjunction with Outdoor Cinema Manager)
* Collaborate with the host cinema and local teams to communicate event plans effectively
* Ensure the comprehensive promotion of the events and fulfil all sponsorship requirements
* Coordinate with venue management to ensure all event aspects are well-organised.
* Be commercially driven to maximise food and beverage opportunities to drive retail spend throughout the season
* Stock Control & Ordering
* Address customer queries and issues received directly to the outdoor management.
* Set up and monitor ticket sales
* Set up Point of Sale (POS) and manage retail transactions
Delivering the Event (In conjunction with the Outdoor Cinema Manager)
* Drive a 3.5t Luton or LWB van between event locations
* Oversee loading and unloading of vehicles, including manual handling and heavy lifting
* Lead daily setup and takedown of all event elements, including:
o Box office
o Cinema screen
o Projection
o Food & beverage counters
* Support and supervise operation of:
o Projection and ancillary equipment
o Food & beverage service and POS
* Coordinate event-day staffing and task allocation
* Support the delivery of sponsorship activations and brand requirements
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation
* Act as nominated first aider when required
After the Event (In conjunction with the Outdoor Cinema Manager)
* Support post-season decommissioning
* Provide feedback on team performance and process improvements
* Ad Hoc duties
Desirable Experience & Skills
* Previous experience in a supervisory or management role
* Experience in events, cinema, hospitality, or outdoor operations
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety in live events environments
* Logistics or stock management experience
* Administrative experience and confidence using Google Suite
* Experience using Square POS, including back-office product setup
* Strong leadership, organisation, and problem-solving skills
* Commercial awareness and customer-focused mindset
Essential Requirements
* Full UK driving licence
* Confidence driving a 3.5t Luton or LWB van
* Ability to undertake manual handling and physical work
* Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends throughout the summer season
* Willingness to travel extensively across the UK
Location
* Good access to London is required
* Hackney Picturehouse is used as the base during the season for preparation days
* This is a remote role, travelling to event locations throughout the UK
* Accommodation is provided for events outside London
