Picturehouse Cinemas
At Picturehouse, we love cinema. The first Picturehouse opened in 1989, and we've been building unique venues and cinematic experiences ever since – nestled in the heart of their neighbourhoods, each of our cinemas are distinct, full of personality, and run by welcoming, attentive staff whose passion for film shines through.
In 2012 Cineworld became our parent company, giving us the exciting opportunity to expand even further and thrive in the shape-shifting film industry. Since then we’ve opened multiple new cinemas, created hundreds of new jobs, and grown our independent film distribution arm Picturehouse Entertainment beyond what we could have imagined.
We’re proud to screen a broad and carefully curated range of films, selected by our team of passionate programmers and spanning quality mainstream, indie, family, foreign language and documentary films. Plus, we don't just screen excellent films: we provide places to eat, meet and relax, and host a busy calendar of events for everyone to enjoy. With this diversity comes opportunities to grow and expand a real variety of skills, from front of house to the back of the bar.
We are committed to driving a learning culture which encourages people development, career progression and in turn enhances our customer’s experience. We offer a wide range of opportunities - from our bespoke online learning platform CineLearn, in-person skills workshops to hands-on practical learning of the job role. Our aim is to support both professional and personal development, so whether this is your first job or you are looking for that next career step we just know our Learning and Development programmes will support you!
We believe cinema can change lives and broaden perspectives. Catering to a diverse and inclusive audience is part of our DNA – we know that our communities make us and we champion films made for all ages, backgrounds and walks of life. From 1998 to present-day, the original spirit of Picturehouse is still at large. Our distinct character runs through the buildings we own, the films we screen, and – perhaps most importantly – the people we work with.

Our Partnership with Refuge
Refuge are pioneers and opened the world's first refuge in Chiswick, West London, in 1971. Since then it has grown to become the country's largest single provider of support to women and children escaping the many forms of violence and abuse.
Refuge provides emergency accommodation and community-based outreach services and operates a Freephone 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline, run in partnership with Women's Aid.
Picturehouse has been working with Refuge since 2019. In that time we have raised over £300,000 through fundraisers and our hot drinks combined.
Did you know that every hot drink a customer buys at Picturehouse, 10p goes to Refuge?
Our cinemas also hold film quizzes, bake sales, screen a text to donate trailer before films, and have donation pots.
In January 2022 we challenged our staff to walk/run 50k for Refuge's 50th Anniversary- called 50 for 50, raising at least £50.00 each!
Our target with the charity is £50,000 till May 2023, and so far we have raised a whopping £39,838.54 (since Sept 2021)
We could not have achieved this without our customers and staff's support: It has made a huge difference, which is the equivalent to 2,342 nights in a refuge for someone.
